Shelter offering a safe space for battered women, their families and others who have experienced domestic abuse. Cornerstone's Emergency Shelter is a bed shelter for those in danger of domestic violence. The shelter provides family living spaces, including a handicap-accessible unit, a teen room, a youth room and a woman's lounge. Laundry facilities and telephones are also available. Male and transgender victims receive safe and comfortable alternative housing while using Cornerstone's services. This option is also available for elderly or transgender people who might not be comfortable in a shelter setting.

Such facilities usually provide in-house individual, group and family counseling and the full range of secondary services related to domestic violence including referral to appropriate resources. Also included are similar facilities for battered men and those that can accommodate both men and women, where they are available.
The information and referral process involves establishing contact with the individual, assessing the individual's long and short-term needs, identifying resources to meet those needs, providing a referral to identified resources, and, where appropriate, following up to ensure that the individual's needs have been met.
Individuals who are generally between the ages of 18 and 25 depending on the ages that specific programs use for qualification. Individuals some with children who are currently staying in a temporary shelter for people who are unable to return to their own homes due to domestic violence. Individuals age 18 and older who have been subjected to a persistent pattern behavior in which one intimate partner uses physical violence, coercion, threats, intimidation, isolation and emotional, sexual, or economic abuse to control the other partner in a relationship.
